The Prison Ministry of Lexington Baptist Church ministers in the prisons in the Lexington/Columbia area. Several times each week, men and women from LBC go to the prisons to lead bible studies and worship services as well as teach life skills for inmates in these prisons. In addition to the weekly visits to the prisons, there are also several special projects like the collection of “Christmas Prisoner Packets” that LBC can take part in. Many of the inmates have come to faith in Jesus while being ministered to by volunteers in this ministry.

“When Carl came to prison approximately 40 years ago, he could not read or write and he was lost. God reached down from heaven one day and saved Carl and transformed his life. He has been accepted into the Columbia International University Prison Initiative for undergraduate studies, and we give God all the glory.”
