The Signal

Our monthly magazine, the Signal, gives you a deeper look at what’s going on in and around Lexington Baptist Church. Click the cover image below to read this month’s edition.

This Month:

For the next six weeks, Pastor Mike will be preaching on an in-depth look into the book of Isaiah. Join us in the worship center at 9am or 10:30am! Can't make it to church? Watch it live here.

Our next quarterly Baby Dedication is Sunday, April 7 during the 10:30am service! There will be a reception for the families following the service in the Fellowship Hall. We will have light snacks and a professional photographer!

Email Kristen to register by April 2!

*Note it’s on the 2nd Thursday due to the trip to Washington, D.C.*
Be sure and make your reservation by Monday, April 8 in order to be eligible for a door prize! Rose Grayson is an excellent dramatist (Who happens to be Dan Williams’ sister!) and will present her dramatic monologue portraying Corrie Ten Boom to help us remember the life and death of Corrie as she was born and also died on April 15th.

Cornelia Arnolda Johanna “Corrie” ten Boom (April 15, 1892 – April 15, 1983) was a Dutch watchmaker and later a writer who worked with her father Casper ten Boom and other family members to help many Jews escape the Nazi Holocaust during World War II by hiding them in her home. They were caught, and she was arrested and sent to Ravensbrück concentration camp. Her most famous book, The Hiding Place, is a biography that recounts the story of her family’s efforts and how ten Boom found hope while imprisoned at the concentration camp.

On Thursday, April 18 at 6:30pm, join us for a special Maundy Thursday service in the Worship Center. This reflective service causes us to pause and remember the sacrifice of Christ as we take the Lord's Supper together. There is also a time of special prayer ministry for individuals or families. Our trained prayer counselors will be there to pray for whatever needs you may have, whether they're health-related, financial, spiritual or relational. It doesn't matter what the needs are; we want to pray for you! From 6:30-7:30pm there will be a special open prayer time, with the Lord's Supper service from 7:30-8pm.

This is an amazing service, and we encourage you to attend! There is Wee Care for children ages birth through age five.

He is risen! Come celebrate the resurrected Jesus and the hope that we have in Him on Easter Sunday. We have three morning services: 8, 9 and 10:30 a.m. Our 8 a.m. service is in the Chapel. Our 9 and 10:30 a.m. services are in the Worship Center, and there will be no Sunday School classes for children, students and adults. If you can't make it in person, join us via live stream!

Our next Lunch with the Pastor is coming up on April 28 at 12pm! If you are a new member or are considering joining our church, this is a great way to learn more about LBC and meet our staff members! And did we mention there's free lunch? RSVP by emailing aberrens@lexingtonbaptist.org or register here. Wee Care is available by registration.

Coming Soon...

Coming up on May 5 is “Bring the Tithe” day—a special day of worship when we challenge all our people to give according to the biblical principle of tithing (the “tithe” in the Bible is one tenth of our income). All of our Sunday School classes will gather in the Fellowship Hall during their regular times, for a group teaching on tithing. The session will be made up of two parts: a biblical teaching on tithing brought by Stephen McNeill, our Next Gen Pastor, and second, a portion that will talk through an overview of our budget, the ways you can tithe and what your gifts impact here at Lexington Baptist Church presented by Sean Abrams, Director of Finance.

In a culture that seeks to mask our light and beckons us with the glitter of worldliness, living as light can be hard to do. Women of all ages are invited to come hear Marian Jordan Ellis, founder of Redeemed Girl Ministries, vibrantly teach us God’s truth and challenge us to live as radiant lights for Christ at our “Radiant” weekend with worship lead by Justin Warren. Radiant teaches women of all ages to live as they were called to live-as radiant lights for Christ. Invite your neighbors, co-workers, friends to this amazing conference May 10 and 11. Cost $10 per person. Doors open at 6:30pm. We will have light refreshments and get started at 7:15pm. Saturday morning, we will start at 9:30am with a lunch break (on your own) at 11:30am. We'll wrap up the great weekend from 1pm-2:30pm! Get your tickets here.
