The Lexington Baptist family is committed to a core of Biblical truth birthed in the life and message of Jesus Christ and preserved for us in the pages of God’s Word, the Bible. Our foundation of belief, teaching and practice is rooted in the reality of eternal truth centered in the person of Jesus Christ.
There are areas of belief and practice about which sincere Bible-based Christians hold differing views. In essence, individual believers must be led by the Holy Spirit to decide these less essential issues.
Our core values are:
Disciples glorify God in every aspect of life.
“I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.” (Psalm 86:12)
Disciples are on a life-long journey to become like Jesus.
“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” (Colossians 2:6-7)
Disciples are called to serve others, in the church and the community, following Jesus’ example.
“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45)
Disciples intentionally engage all people with the gospel in order to make more disciples.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8)
