GOing
“I would really love to go on a short term mission trip, but…”
What is the answer to this statement? First of all, going on a short-term mission trip is a great honor and privilege, not a sacrifice.
But what about family, and career, and calling, etc. Aren’t these important considerations? Yes, by all means. But they are not the most important! The ‘normal’ Christian life is one that requires you to leave family and careers.
But what about calling? Don’t wait for a call. If you have the time and the opportunity and you are called, you should sacrifice family time and career time and do whatever you can on one of our mission trips in order to make a difference in this world for the Kingdom of God.

Giving
The Global Missions Offering (GMO) is the means by which LBC invests mission dollars in our community, our nation, and around the world. All funds given to the GMO are used solely for mission projects from Lexington to all over the world. LBC members make a pledge to the GMO during our annual Global Impact Celebration and then they fulfill that pledge over the next year by using their regular offering envelopes. A ministry team within our church, comprised of 13 people, called the Global Impact Team (GIT) makes the decision of where those mission dollars go and also prepare a proposed budget each year with specific line items and amounts. Throughout the year, the GIT meets monthly to disburse funds to various ministries and projects and to review new proposals.”

Praying
Another way to get involved with Missions is through our Global Missions Prayer Ministry. The Global Missions Prayer Room (GMPR) is devoted solely to interceding for our local, national, and international missions. Its purpose is to provide intercessors the means to co-labor with God through prayer in order to expand His Kingdom around the world, to expand and shape the worldview of intercessors, and to specifically support missionaries and organizations that minister to us during our Global Impact Celebration (GIC). If you would like to participate in this ministry please contact our GMPR Coordinator, Sandy, by clicking here or call 803.996.8821. |

Global Impact celebration (GIC)
Our Global Impact Celebration is one of the highlights of our church year and is one of our primary ways of connecting LBC members to missions all over the world. Each year, we bring in over 25 missionaries from all over the world and the United States to help us not only what God is doing in the world, but to provide opportunities for us to see where we can join Him. During these special days in October, we celebrate the goodness of God and His faithfulness to carry His name to those who do not know Him.
