How Do I Find God?
Title bar

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." (John 3:16-18 NIV)

Through these verses, we can see that God DOES love us – so much that He sent His ONLY Son to die for our sins. Through His Son, Jesus Christ, we are forgiven, given eternal life, and we can live a life filled with meaning and purpose–the abundant life.

He is also offering eternal life in a never-ending relationship with Him! If you don’t know what to say, just pray the following simple prayer and believe that God will answer.

Dear God, I know that I have done wrong and my sin has separated me from You. I need your forgiveness. Read your Bible: We would suggest that you begin with the gospel of John in the New Testament and read a chapter a day. As you read, say this prayer: "Jesus, please reveal yourself to me through Your Word today."

Find a church that teaches the truths of God’s Word and worships Him: Ask a family member or a close friend about their church and what principles it stands for.

Talk to God in prayer: You have started a relationship with the best friend you can ever know—a friend who always loves you and is always willing to listen. Prayer is the way you communicate with this friend. Just as we cannot develop a relationship with our human friends without communication, we cannot have a relationship with God without communication. Set aside time each day to pray to God. You can also pray as you drive to work, wash the dishes, or go about your daily life. He is always there. No special words or phrases need to be said. Remember, He cares about your every need.

As you read your Bible, pray, attend church, and fellowship with other believers, you will grow in your faith. Then you can share with others what you have—a more abundant life, filled with purpose and meaning, which can only be obtained through Jesus Christ.
