LBC is now hosting a support group for any adult who has experience the death of a loved one called “Joy in the Mourning.” They meet on the third Tuesday of each month from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Pastor Mike will be leading us in an expository series on the Book of Acts from February through May, called “Acts: Spirit in Motion.” This will be a time where we can dig deeper into Scripture and learn more about the work of the Holy Spirit through this great book of the Bible. Join us Sunday mornings at 9 or 10:30 a.m.
Our WAM! Children’s Choir will be presenting their “Amerikids” Musical on Sunday, April 24 at 6 p.m. in the Worship Center. We hope you will come celebrate God and Country with them as they share the music they’ve been working on!
Our Monthly Men’s Bible study led by Foster Christy meets every fourth Friday of the month at 7 a.m. in the Reception Hall. This is a great opportunity to fellowship and build community with other men by diving into God’s word. See you there April 22!
April 25 – 27 we are taking Mature and Senior Adults to Myrtle Beach for the Jubilee Conference. It will be a wonderful time of Gospel singing, preaching and worship. For further information visit JubileeConferences.com.
On May 1, we will celebrate Lexington Baptist’s older adults in our worship services and enjoy a meal together immediately following the second service. This is a free luncheon, and all senior adults are invited. On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8, we invite mothers and children of all ages to join us in the Fellowship Hall for a Mother’s Day Tea. This drop-in style tea will be open from 9 to 11:30 a.m., so feel free to stop in whenever is convenient for you that morning. We’ll have tea and light refreshments available as you spend some quality time together as mother and child. For more information, or to volunteer, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’re starting an additional worship experience here at LBC on Wednesday nights! On May 11 at 6:30p.m., join us for Electric Chapel. We’ll gather in the LBC Chapel for for this new service, complete with familiar elements such as music and teaching plus some new things designed to help you engage in our time together. Anyone is welcome to attend, just be aware that this service is geared towards adults aged 18 to 35. We hope you’ll be there.
On May 20 at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, we will have our annual Senior Blessing night, which is a celebration for our graduating class and their families. The cost is $30 per family and is for the graduating seniors and their parents only. Please register before May 15 by emailing Kristen King at email@example.com.
Our monthly Men’s Bible Study is on Friday, May 20 at 7 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Foster Christy is our guest leader for this study, and we hope you’ll be there. Bring a friend and join us for this time of fellowship.
Our next Dinner with the Pastor will be on Sunday, May 22 at 4 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. This information dinner is for new members or anyone considering church membership. Wee Care for children is available by reservation only. Register online here.
Coming up on Sunday, May 29 is our Concert in the Park. This concert features the LBC Orchestra and will be held at 6 p.m. at Virginia Hylton Park in Lexington. Bring some lawn chairs and a few friends for a great night of amazing music. This event is free, so make sure to spread the word!
On June 5 is one of our favorite events of the year: Picnic at the River! We come together at 5 p.m. at Saluda Shoals Park for our annual church picnic and outdoor baptism. LBC is hosting a special Father/Son Skeet Shooting Day on Saturday, June 18. This day is designed for fathers and sons to come together for some fun and quality time, while fellowshipping with other men and boys from our church. More details will follow as they become available.
