January 2018

We are excited to offer LifeDesign classes for adults on Wednesday nights, beginning January 3. This is a new direction designed to impact our church family and the community with Gospel-centered Bible studies intended to help us walk with Christ daily. Our goal for Wednesday evenings in 2018 is to offer studies that will enable you in the everyday grind we call life. Click here for more information.

Pastor Mike is leading a new Wednesday night Bible study called "Holy Spirit: Giver of Life." This series will be about how the only way we can go deeper into the Kingdom and receive more of what the Bible promises us is through the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Join us in the Fellowship Hall on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., beginning January 3, 2018.

Our English-as-a-Second Language classes are back, beginning January 10, 2018 on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the third floor of the Chapel Building. If you know someone that would benefit from these classes, invitation cards are available in the church lobby, or contact our Missions Ministry for more information.

Our church mission statement is "making disciples of Jesus Christ in Lexington and around the world," and we take that very seriously! During the month of January, we will be focusing specifically on missions with our new Sunday series "For His Glory." Each week, we'll look at a different element of our missions ministry: within the church, local ministry, national ministry and international ministry. This month we'll also have special displays out in the lobby each week so that you can see all of the ways you can be involved in the great commission here at LBC and beyond. Join us at 9 or 10:30 a.m. each week of January.

It's that time again: Lexington Baptist Preschool registration time! Current or previous families of LBP may begin registration January 8-31. LBC church members may begin registration February 1 at 8 a.m. Registration opens to the public on February 5 at 8 a.m. Get more info and the registration form here or in the Children's Lobby

On Sunday, January 21, the night of the NFC/AFC playoffs, we’re hosting a tailgate party for our men and boys from 4 to 7 p.m. Weather permitting, we’ll be outside with grills, big-screen TVs and meat of every possible variety, to hang out and watch the games. We’re bringing in speakers Bobby and Jake Bentley during the break between the games to share their testimony, so this will be the perfect time for you to invite a friend or relative to come with you! We hope you’ll save the date!

If you're a fan of Southern gospel music, then mark your calendars for Sunday, January 28 at 6 p.m.! Lexington Baptist Worship is excited to present Gerald Wolfe's Gospel Music Hymn Sing in the Worship Center. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online or in the Music Office during regular business hours. Click here for more information!

February 2018

Life can be tough, and it can seem like we are facing an uphill climb all day every day. God wants to live in us and work through us each day to give us life.  We weren’t made to survive–we were made to Thrive! Women of all ages and stages, join us on Saturday, February 10 from 9-11 a.m. for brunch and a time of encouragement as we hear from Pam Turner and other pastors’ wives.  Tickets are $5 and are available on Sundays in the lobby.

Lunch with the Pastor is a casual meal for new members or anyone interested in church membership. Get to know our pastor and staff and let us get to know you! We will meet right after church in the Fellowship Hall for lunch (it's on us!). There is Wee Care available for children. If you'd like to attend, please register here.

Couples, join us for Valentine's Day on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, with the Great Date Challenge. We're thrilled to offer a very special date night for our families. Lex Kids will take care of your children (and feed them pizza!) while you and your spouse enjoy a quiet dinner alone. We are excited to offer private, two-top tables set up in our Worship Center lobby area for each couple. This meal will be catered by the Corley Mill House (menu to include bacon-wrapped chicken, a carving station, rosemary potatoes and spring salad). Dessert will be catered by Nonnah's. This Great Date Challenge night will be just $10 per couple (this includes your child care) to allow our young couples to experience a great, intentional evening together for an affordable price. Register here!
