Pastor Mike begins a new Wednesday night Bible study on October 1 (runs through Nov. 12) called “Kingdom Authority: Living in the Presence and Power of the Holy Spirit. This study will meet in the Chapel at both 4 and 6:15 p.m.- choose whichever time works best for your schedule. If you’re here at 6:15, don’t forget to RSVP and join us for dinner!
Our fall session of D Groups begin October 1 and run through November 12. We will be offering three Discipleship Groups: one on parenting, one for women and one for men. These groups meet on Wednesday nights at 6:15 p.m., and you can find more details and preregister on our D Groups page.
Pastor Mike’s new series called “Postcards of Grace” begins on Sunday, October 19 and focuses on some of the shorter books of the Old Testament: Ruth, Ezra, Esther, Hosea, Jonah and Habakkuk. Each week will focus on a new book- showing us something new from the Old Testament. Join us for this great series at either 9 or 10:30 a.m. in the Worship Center.
Our next Dinner with the Pastor will be on Sunday, November 2 at 4 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. This is a casual dinner for new members or anyone considering church membership. Run for God is a 12 week 5K training program that parallels running with the Christian Life. The group begins on November 8 and you can get the full info and details here.
On Saturday, November 15 from 5 to 9 p.m., we will partner with our parents to allow for an intentional date night together. The Great Date Challenge is a chance for parents to get some alone time and for your children to have a great time with us! We will provide you with a pre-planned date kit, and we’ll provide a pizza dinner for your children. The cost is $10 per child ($25 family max), and sign-ups begin October 19 in the Children’s Lobby. Men, join us for our last monthly men’s Bible study of the year on Friday, November 21 at 7 a.m. in the Reception Hall. This study is led by guest teacher Foster Christy and gives you the chance to learn more about God’s Word for men and fellowship with others. We’ve got coffee and doughnuts- make sure to be there!
This year LBC is hosting our annual Community Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 23 at 7 p.m. in the Worship Center. The other area churches participating are Radius Church, St. Stephens Lutheran, New Bethel AME and Lexington United Methodist. The speaking pastor will be Rev. Vernon Dixon from New Bethel AME. We hope you’ll make plans to join us!
On November 30, we are beginning a new Christmas sermon series called “Why Did Jesus Come?” This five-part series will look at all of the reasons Jesus came to Earth. This is a departure from the average Christmas sermon series, looking from an evangelistic perspective at the holiday season. We hope that you’ll join us and invite a friend, Sundays from November 30 through December 21. The last message of this series will be delivered during our Christmas Eve Services.
LBC is hosting the Annie Moses Band in concert on Wednesday, December 3 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for $8 on our website or through the music office (803.996.8832). It’s back… Christmas at the Barn returns on Friday and Saturday, December 12 and 13! Join us at Harmon’s Tree Farm in Gilbert from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for a whole new take on the Christmas story.
