Sunday mornings from June 12 through July 31, Pastor Mike is leading us in a series called “Faces: Overlooked Heroes of the Old Testament.” We’ll take a look at six people that made an impact for the Kingdom of God that you may have forgotten about or never heard of- they may not be as well-known as Moses or Noah, but they made a big difference! Join us in the Worship Center at 9 or 10:30 a.m. each week.
We’re starting an additional worship experience here at LBC on Wednesday nights! Join us weekly at 6:30p.m. for Electric Chapel. We’ll gather in the LBC Chapel for for this new service, complete with familiar elements such as music and teaching plus some new things designed to help you engage in our time together. Wee Care is available for children from birth to age five- older children are welcome to join you.
LBC is now hosting a support group for any adult who has experience the death of a loved one called “Joy in the Mourning.” They meet on the third Tuesday of each month from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Break out the slap bracelets, Ray Bans and side pony tails… it’s time for an 80s Skate Party! Rising 6th through 12th graders are invited to join us on August 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Celebrations in Leesville for a, like, totally rad time. This is a free event- invite a friend!
Before our Next Gen Open House, we’ll be having a Volunteer Kick-Off on August 7 at 3:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. This will be a time of training and fellowship for our volunteers for children and students.
Families, you’re invited to join us in the Family Life Center for a time of fun, games, food and fellowship during our Next Gen Open House! Hang out with us on Sunday, August 7 at 5:30 p.m. in the Gym and meet your child’s small group leader for the upcoming year. We’ll have great food and enjoy spending time with you and your kids. See you then!
Join us on Saturday, August 13 at 9 a.m. in the rooms 406-408 (AEB) at LBC to pray onsite for our children in the 30 schools in Lexington County School District One. We will have a short devotion before we go out. We will provide prayer guides and water as we invite the Holy Spirit into the lives of our children and faculty, who have families and families that live in our community.
Sunday, August 14 is not only Promotion Sunday, but it’s also Teacher Appreciation Sunday! We are so appreciative of our teachers, administrators and home school parents- thank you so much for all that you do for the next generation! The LBC Orchestra will be performing An Evening of Instrumental Praise on Sunday, August 28 at 6 p.m. in the Worship Center. The orchestra is directed by Scott Clark, and this year, we’ll have special guest composer/conductor Steven Dunn with us, as well! Don’t miss this great, free concert event!
It’s time for one of our favorite events of the year: Tailgate Sunday! There will be one service that day at 9 a.m., then we’ll all enjoy a BBQ tailgate lunch together on campus. The food is catered by Hudson’s Smokehouse, and we will all be eating indoors (arranged by Sunday School class). Pick up your free tickets on Sunday in the Worship Center lobby (and fill out the back for a chance to win football tickets!).
Our next Oil Change Ministry for single moms and widows will be on Saturday, September 10 at 111 Efird Street behind the FLC from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. We provide free oil changes and car checks, and we need volunteers to perform the car maintenance and also to work in administrative capacities and talk with our “customers.” If you’re available to help in any capacity, please email Kevin Barber at email@example.com. Volunteers will need to arrive at 7:30 a.m.
Our next Dinner with the Pastor is coming up on Sunday, September 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. This casual dinner is for new members or anyone considering church membership. Wee Care is available by registration only. RSVP today for you and your family!
