LBC is now hosting a support group for any adult who has experience the death of a loved one called “Joy in the Mourning.” They meet on the third Tuesday of each month from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center. This group is free and pre-registration is not required. For more information, email email@example.com.
Pastor Mike will be leading us in an expository series on the Book of Acts from February through May, called “Acts: Spirit in Motion.” This will be a time where we can dig deeper into Scripture and learn more about the work of the Holy Spirit through this great book of the Bible. Join us Sunday mornings at 9 or 10:30 a.m.
Our Monthly Men’s Bible study returns on Friday, February 26 at 7 a.m. in the Reception Hall. This study is led by Foster Christy and is open to men of all ages and stages. Come for fellowship, coffee (and doughnuts!) and some time spent in the Word with other men.
The next Lex Kids Family Fun Night is Friday, February 26. You won’t want to miss this night of lego fun. Come with your family to the Fellowship Hall at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy lego-themed food and games and to watch the Lego Movie. It doesn’t get more fun than that!
On Saturday, February 27, join us for a Prayer and Worship Night at 7 p.m. in the Worship Center. This time will be led by worship leader Regi Stone and speaker Dr. Abby Burke. Wee Care will be available this evening for children age 5 and under.Then, on Sunday, February 28, we’ll have our annual Prayer Commitment Sunday. Visit the booth in the lobby all during the month of February to learn more about the crucial Prayer Ministry at LBC and pick up your prayer commitment card.
Are you a new member or someone that is considering church membership? Then please join us for our next “Dinner with the Pastor” on Sunday, March 13 at 4 p.m. This casual dinner gives you more information about LBC and allows us the chance to get to know you better. Preschoolers, bring your parents, some friends and a picnic lunch to our next Preschool Playdate on Tuesday, March 15 at 12 p.m. at Virginia Hylton Park here in Lexington. We will bring dessert and lots of fun!
Our Cradle Care Ministry is designed to support new and expectant parents and surround them with prayer and love as they welcome children into their family through birth or adoption. Our Cradle Care Banquet is designed to introduce families to Lex Kids, the children’s ministry of Lexington Baptist, and our next one will be on March 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Our next Oil Change Ministry for single mothers and widows is on March 19 from 9 a.m. to Noon in the parking lot behind the Family Life Center at 111 Efird Street. If you know someone that could benefit from this free car check and oil change, please share the information with them. We also need volunteers, not only to perform the oil changes, but also to help with administrative needs and chat with our “customers” while they wait. Join us as we celebrate the resurrection of our living Savior on Easter Sunday, March 27! We’ll have three worship services that day: 8 a.m. in the Chapel (this is a simple service with no Wee Care available) and then at 9 and 10:30 a.m. in the Worship Center. We’ll have Sunday School and Wee Care as usual on this day. Bring friends and family along for a great celebration!
Fam Jam, our worship experience for your entire family, will be held on Sunday, April 24 at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Parents are invited to join their children for a high-energy, interactive worship experience. The one-hour event will be filled with music, sketches, comedy and stories as we learn our place in God’s big story!
April 25 – 27 we are taking Mature and Senior Adults to Myrtle Beach for the Jubilee Conference. It will be a wonderful time of Gospel singing, preaching and worship. On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8, we invite mothers and daughters of all ages to join us in the Fellowship Hall for a Mother/Daughter Tea. This drop-in style tea will be open from 9 to 11:30 a.m., so feel free to stop in whenever is convenient for you that morning. LBC is hosting a special Father/Son Skeet Shooting Day on Saturday, June 18. This day is designed for fathers and sons to come together for some fun and quality time, while fellowshipping with other men and boys from our church. More details will follow as they become available.
