This Month

Our English-as-a-Second Language classes are back on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the third floor of the Chapel Building. If you know someone that would benefit from these classes, invitation cards are available in the church lobby, or contact our Missions Ministry for more information.

This fall, we have some amazing Wednesday nights planned for your family. Each week for adults, we have a Pastoral Bible study, as well as two D Groups. You can get all of the details on the groups here, but they all start at 6:30 p.m. weekly. Make plans to eat dinner with us and stay for a great time of learning and fellowship.

Pastor Mike is leading a new Wednesday night series called "Then and Now" which takes a look into the incredibly important and fascinating history of the church because where we've been shapes who we are. Join us on Wednesdays November 1 & 8 and December 6 and 13 for these four messages at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

We're excited to be offering a third D Group this winter called: Advent of the Light of the World. This session, led by Rev. Dan Williams, is a five-part study on the foretelling of the coming of the Messiah. It runs now through December 13 (no sessions Nov. 15 due to our Family Thanksgiving Dinner or November 22 due to Thanksgiving). Join us in CHB 208 at 6:30 p.m. this Wednesday night!

On Sunday mornings in November, we'll be in a new series called "Against All Odds: The Life of Moses" which will explore the amazing ways God moved in Moses' life and used him to do great things for the Kingdom. Join us at 9 or 10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings in the Worship Center or worship with us online.

Sunday mornings in December, join us at 9 or 10:30 a.m. in the Worship Center (or online) for our Christmas sermon series called "The Story," which focuses on different aspects of the story of Christmas and the birth of Jesus.

Join us for our Lex Kids Worship & Arts Christmas Musical "Follow the Star" on Sunday, December 10 at 6 p.m. Our children's choirs have been working hard on this performance, and we hope you'll make plans to be there with us in the Worship Center to experience this great Christmas story!

The Worship Ministry of LBC is excited to present "The Story: A Christmas Night of Worship" in the Worship Center on Sunday, December 17 at 6 p.m. We hope you'll make plans to attend and praise the Lord with us as we celebrate the birth of our Savior.

Celebrate the season with Pastor Mike and Pam in a fun, Facebook Live event on Wednesday, December 20 at 7 p.m. Pastor Mike and Pam will be broadcasting live from their living room and sharing some of their favorite Christmas stories with us. Tune in on our Facebook page.

We will be having two candlelight Christmas "Eve" services this year: Saturday, December 23 at 5 p.m. and Sunday, December 24 at 5 p.m. (Church on Sunday morning will be one service only at 9 a.m.; no Sunday School and no Wee Care).

Our Christmas worship schedule this year includes just one service at 9 a.m. on Sunday, December 24 (No Sunday School; No Wee Care). Then, Sunday, December 31 also has just one service at 9 a.m. (No Sunday School; there is Wee Care for children five and under).

Ring in the New Year (a little earlier than midnight!) with your LBC family at our New Year's Eve Pancakes & Prayer night. We'll enjoy a free pancake supper, followed by a time of prayer for our church. Join us in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, December 31 from 7 to 9 p.m.

January 2018

Our church mission statement is "making disciples of Jesus Christ in Lexington and around the world," and we take that very seriously! During the month of January, we will be focusing specifically on missions with our new Sunday series "For His Glory." Each week, we'll look at a different element of our missions ministry: within the church, local ministry, national ministry and international ministry. This month we'll also have special displays out in the lobby each week so that you can see all of the ways you can be involved in the great commission here at LBC and beyond. Join us at 9 or 10:30 a.m. each week of January.

It's that time again: Lexington Baptist Preschool registration time! Current or previous families of LBP may begin registration January 8-31. LBC church members may begin registration February 1 at 8 a.m. Registration opens to the public on February 5 at 8 a.m. Get more info and the registration form here or in the Children's Lobby.
